Sydney Airport operating at 60% efficiency, can handle 110 flights per hour: chairman

Australia's Sydney Airport chairman Max Moore-Wilton, speaking at the CAPA Australia Pacific Aviation Summit, stated (09-Aug-2013) the airport could probably handle 110 flights per hour with current technology if government regulation permitted. Mr Moore-Wilton said current restrictions meant the airport was operating with an effective flight cap of about 60 flights per hour and 60% efficiency. Mr Moore-Wilton described the operational restrictions restrictions at the airport as "a huge waste of national productivity."
