SWISS CEO Jens Fehlinger stated it expected Pratt & Whitney PW1500G engine issues affecting both A220-100 and A220-300 aircraft to persist through the decade, with about 10 A220s likely to be unproductive in 2026 and various mitigation measures underway to maintain productivity1. SWISS has reiterated that the A220 remains an integral part of its fleet and has not decided when to phase out the A220-1002.
