Sunshine Coast Airport completed the first phase of its AUD170 million terminal transformation by opening a new outbound baggage facility, featuring more than 300m of conveyor systems and designed to lift checked-baggage capacity and security compliance; the overall expansion was due for completion in 2027.1 The airport’s broader Gateway Precinct master plan was approved by Economic Development Queensland, with 2026 site preparation planned for hotel, commercial and retail parcels alongside the terminal expansion.2
