Stockholm Arlanda Airport pax up 8% in Oct-2013, attributes growth to strong Swedish economy

Sweden's Stockholm Arlanda Airport recorded (06-Nov-2013) an 8% year-on-year increase in passenger numbers to 1.9 million in Oct-2013. Domestic passengers increased 5% to 480,722 and the number of international passengers increased 9% to 1.4 million. The routes that experienced the highest growth were London, Paris and New York, which saw a 40% growth due to Norwegian Air Shuttle's entry on the route. Airport director Kjell-Åke Westin attributed the airport's traffic growth to the strong Swedish economy, which has led to more routes and increased travel to/from Stockholm.
