Sri Lanka's Cabinet awarded the concession of Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport to a consortium comprising Shaurya Aeronautics and Airports of Regions, with a contract lasting until 20541. Airport & Aviation Services Sri Lanka Ltd planned to invest approximately LKR200 million to expand infrastructure at Jaffna International Airport, including its passenger terminal and customs facilities2. Additionally, Sri Lanka's Government planned to waive landing and aircraft parking fees at Colombo Ratmalana Airport for one year to encourage international service launches3.
