Spring Airlines to restart IPO plans, hires UBS: reports

Spring Airlines has reportedly resumed its long-delayed plans to conduct an IPO in Shanghai to fund expansion (China Business News/Xinhua/Reuters/Global Times/Capital Vue, 24-Jan-2011). Spring Airlines has reportedly hired UBS and has sent a notice to the China Securities Regulatory Commission. If the IPO is successful, Spring Airlines would become China's fifth listed carrier, after larger rivals Air China, China Eastern Airlines Corp, China Southern Airlines Co and Hainan Airlines Co. Shanghai Spring International Travel Service is now the controlling shareholder of Spring Airlines.
