Spring Airlines sees 'good business case' for low cost long haul

Spring Airlines VP Jonathan Hutt, speaking at the CAPA 2017 Americas Aviation Summit, stated (04-Apr-2017) there is a "good business case" for the carrier to consider the low cost long haul market. Mr Hutt said he does see Chinese airlines "buying widebody aircraft... it's logical when looking at the catchment areas". However, Mr Hutt said there are obstacles in regulations including slot restraints at Shanghai Pudong International Airport. Mr Hutt said the carrier will need to have a "very strong network" to "look at the long haul low cost scenario" in 2018, and the carrier is "very interested to see what LEVEL is going to do".
