Spirit Airlines expects capacity to increase 27.5% in 1Q2016

Spirit Airlines stated (09-Feb-2016) it expects capacity measured in available seat miles to increase 27.5% year-over-year in 1Q2016, with an operating margin of 19.0% to 20.5%. Adjusted CASM ex-fuel is projected to decrease 2.5% to 3.5% year-over-year in 1Q2016, while Spirit anticipates consuming 70.1 million gallons of fuel at USD1.25/gallon. The carrier expects capacity to increase 20% in FY2016, while CASM is expected to remain flat to down 1%. Spirit also estimates some 296.3 million gallons of fuel will be consumed in 2016.
