Spirit Airlines bookings rise strongly despite carry-on bag fee

Spirit Airlines CEO, Ben Baldanza, stated the carrier's bookings have risen by 50% from 01-Aug-2010, when the carrier's new carry-on bag fee becomes effective (TheStreet/South Florida Sun-Sentinel, 20-Apr-2010). The carrier also announced plans to install additional "pre-reclined" seats in its A320 fleet following the delivery of two more aircraft in summer 2010.
