SpiceJet expects Indian LCCs to capture three quarters of domestic market in five years

SpiceJet Director and interim CEO, Kishore Gupta, stated he expects Indian LCCs to "capture three-fourths of the market" in the next five years. "There could be saturation in some sectors. But there are many airports in the country that are not even covered. These will drive passenger growth in future" (Economic Times, 08-Sep-2010). The carrier added that its expansion plans over the next five years are "well thought out to support growth".
