Spain extends emergency decree measure

Spain's Parliament voted 180 in favour of the approval of a government proposal to extend the emergency decree to keep air traffic control under military authority until 15-Jan-2010 (The Associated Press, 17-Dec-2010). The measure, due to expire on 19-Dec-2010, came into effect on 04-Dec-2010 a day after air traffic controllers staged a 24-hour wildcat strike that forced the closure of Spanish airports.
