Southwest Airlines' pax increase 3.3%, PRASM up 24% in Jun-2010

Southwest Airlines passenger numbers up 3.3% - traffic highlights in Jun-2010:

  • Revenue passengers: 7.9 million, +3.3% year-on-year;
  • Enplaned passengers: 9.6 million, +6.2%;
  • Load factor: 81.9%, +2.4 ppts;
  • Passenger revenue per ASM: +24%. [more]

Southwest: "Southwest Airlines announced today that the company flew 7.1 billion revenue passenger miles (RPMs) in June 2010, a 5% increase from the 6.7 billion RPMs flown in June 2009. Available seat miles (ASMs) increased 1.9% to 8.6 billion from the June 2009 level of 8.5 billion. The load factor for the month was 81.9%, compared to 79.5% for the same period last year.
