Southwest Airlines debuts 'green plane' with environmentally friendly interior materials

Southwest Airlines launched (21-Oct-2009) its "green plane," a B737-700 that will serve as a test environment for new environmentally responsible materials and customer comfort products. In addition to the green plane, Southwest also announced the 01-Nov-2009 launch of its onboard recycling programme, which is a co-mingled system that will allow the airline to capture more recyclable material and divert it from the waste stream.
