South Africa now one of most compliant countries in the world: CAA

South African Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) CEO Colin Jordaan stated "in terms of International Civil Aviation Organisation safety requirements, SA was now one of the most compliant countries in the world, at 99%, according to most recent data" and the organisation has made huge strides in improving safety oversight and bringing down the rate of aircraft accidents (All Africa, 14-Oct-2010). Full implementation of new regulations by the CAA is set for 2012 and it is hoped initial targets of civil aviation organisations will be published by early 2011.
