Some airports see bilaterals as impediments to development: ACI Europe

ACI Europe director general Olivier Jankovec, speaking at the CAPA Airlines In Transition Summit, said (10-Mar-2016) airports support open skies and many see restricted bilateral agreements as impediments to business development. Mr Jankovec also noted some airports are not informed by their governments on their traffic rights under bilateral agreements.
