SkyWest Airlines planned to transition 29 of its existing CRJ700s to CRJ550s under a multi-year contract with United Airlines, with the converted aircraft expected to enter service between late 2024 and the end of 20261. Additionally, SkyWest aimed to operate 40 CRJ550s under a new contract with United Airlines, with the first four entered service by the end of 20242.
