Singapore Changi Airport pax up 6%, cargo down 2% in Jun-2013; 26.2 million pax in 1H2013

Singapore Changi Airport passenger numbers up 6% - traffic highlights:

  • Jun-2013:
    • Passenger numbers: 4.7 million, +6.1% year-on-year;
    • Cargo volume: 150,514 tonnes, -1.8%;
    • Aircraft movements: 28,283, +6.1%;
  • Six months ended 30-Jun-2013:
    • Passenger numbers: 26.2 million, +5.0%;
    • Cargo volume: 877,700, -2.3%;

The airport stated (23-Jul-2013) the Jun-2012 passenger traffic is the highest for a month so far this year. Air traffic to/from Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, South Asia and the Middle East grew. The haze in Singapore during the month had no discernable impact on passenger and aircraft movements, according to Singapore Changi. Yangon (+27), Taipei (+19%), and Bangkok (+18) recorded the strongest growth, among cities with at least a quarter of a million passengers during the period. As of 01-Jul-2013, more than 100 airlines operate at Changi Airport, connecting Singapore to 250 cities in some 60 countries and territories worldwide.
