Singapore Airlines welcomes CCS approval of Virgin Australia alliance

Singapore Airlines welcomed (20-Oct-2011) the Competition Commission of Singapore’s (CCS) approval of its proposed alliance with Virgin Australia. The carriers lodged an application with the relevant regulatory authorities in Singapore and Australia in Jun-2011 seeking approval to cooperate across a broad range of commercial functions. On 13-Oct-2011 the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) announced draft approval of the proposed alliance.
