Singapore Airlines pax numbers up 7% but cargo down 11% in Oct-2012, cargo market remains depressed

Singapore Airlines reports (15-Nov-2012) the following traffic highlights for Oct-2012:

  • Passenger numbers: 1.5 million, +7.1% year-on-year;
  • Passenger load factor: 77.8%, +1.1 ppts;
    • East Asia: 76%, -0.4 ppt;
    • Americas: 80.6%, +6.0 ppts;
    • Europe: 77.4%, +1.7 ppts;
    • South West Pacific: 80.5%, -3.3 ppts;
    • West Asia and Africa: 72.7%, +1.8 ppts;
  • SIA Cargo:
    • Cargo volume: 95,500 tonnes, -10.9%;
    • Capacity: -9.9%;
    • Cargo load factor: 63.9%, -2.4 ppts;
      • East Asia: 53.9%, -5.5 ppts;
      • Americas: 64.9%, -2.9 ppts;
      • Europe: 76%, +1.3 ppts;
      • South West Pacific: 59.9%, -0.8 ppt;
