Shenyang Airport to be transformed into major hub

China's Liaoning Airport Management Group announced plans to transform Shenyang Taoxian International Airport into a major hub in the Northeast Asia region, including expanding the airport's terminal to 400,000 sqm, construction of a second runway and a long-term plan for four runways (AvBuyer, 03-Feb-2010). The airport handled 7.5 million passengers in 2009 and is expected to handle up to 9.0 million passengers in 2010.
