Shanghai Airlines may be delisted in Feb-2010 after China Eastern merger; Interested in alliance

China Eastern Airlines General Manager, Ma Xulun, stated Shanghai Airlines, following its merger with China Eastern, would likely be delisted from the Shanghai Stock Exchange in Feb-2010 (hexun, 08-Dec-2009). Both carriers will submit additional documentation to the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) for official approval, which is expected before the end of 2009. CSRC conditionally approved the merger on 30-Nov-2009. The new combined airline also reportedly plans to decide on an airline alliance before the end of Feb-2010.
