Shandong Airlines to more than double fleet over next five years

Shandong Airlines signed a contract on 10-Jan-2011 confirming the purchase of 15 B737-800 aircraft from Boeing (Xinhua, 11-Jan-2011). The order is valued at around USD1.35 billion based on catalogue prices. The list price of the B737-800 is between USD75 million and USD80 million per aircraft. The aircraft will be delivered to Shandong Airlines over the next five years, according to chairman Zhang Xingfu who added that Shandong Airlines aims to increase its fleet to 100 over the next five years. The carrier operates 48 passenger aircraft at present.
