Scoot revenue growth supported by increased passenger numbers in H1FY2017

Scoot stated (03-Nov-2016) revenue growth of 45.2% year-on-year in H1FY2016/17 was supported by a 53.2% increase in passenger carriage, but was impacted by a 5.7% decrease in yield. Load factor decreased as capacity grew faster than passenger traffic. Costs increased 28.9% largely in line with the increase in capacity, although unit cost decreased 19.2%. The airline received one Boeing 787-8 aircraft in 2Q2016 and operated six 787-8s and six 787-9s with an average age of one year and one month as of 30-Sep-2016. [more - original PR]
