Background ✨
Schiphol Group head of aviation partnerships Joery Strijtveen said years of uncertainty over operating limits left neighbouring communities in a “legal limbo”, while the Dutch government finalised a decree retaining the 478,000 annual cap and 27,000 night limit, with conditions for phased growth toward 500,000 flights.1 Netherlands’ Council of State previously annulled the earlier Airport Traffic Decree for insufficient justification, reverting to the 2008 decree without an explicit annual cap.2
