Saudi takes delivery of first three-class 777-300ER

Saudia received (18-May-2013) its seventh Boeing 777-300ER on 17-May-2013. It is the first aircraft of the type to be operated in a three-class configuration by the airline. Saudia has a further 13 777-300ERs and eight 787s on order. Saudia deputy director general Abdul Aziz Al-Hazmi said the 777-300ERs would form the backbone of the carrier's long haul fleet and allow it to commence services to Los Angeles and Toronto. According to the CAPA Fleet Database, Saudia's six other 777-300ERs are operated in a two-class, 413-seat configuration, and the airline has options for two more of the type in addition to the 13 on order.
