Background ✨
Ryanair previously warned that Sardinia's retention of the municipal surcharge would constrain growth, despite planning 71 routes and three based aircraft across Alghero, Cagliari and Olbia for summer 2025, and forecasting 4.4 million passengers p/a.1 It also said it expected limited growth in summer 2026 unless the tax was removed, while outlining a potential uplift of two million passengers p/a, four additional aircraft and a new northern base if abolished.2 3
