Background ✨
Ryanair previously outlined a "record" summer 2026 programme in Sweden, basing eight aircraft across Stockholm Arlanda and Gothenburg and targeting more than 4.4 million passengers p/a, after Sweden removed its aviation tax on 01-Jul-2025.1 Ryanair CEO Eddie Wilson warned that rising Swedavia airport charges and a reported increase in the government's security fee risked undermining Sweden's competitiveness, while signalling potential to double traffic to eight million p/a by 2030 if costs stayed competitive.1
