Royal Jordanian swings to 1H2010 loss as operating costs rise 20%

Royal Jordanian reported the following financial/traffic highlights for the 12 months ended Jun-2010 (Reuters, 29-Jul-2010):

• Revenue*: USD441.8 million, +13.9% year-on-year;
• Operating costs: +20%;
• Net profit: (USD10.2 million) compared to a net profit of USD10.9 million in the previous corresponding period;
  • 1Q2010: USD6.5 million;
  • 2Q2010: (16.6 million).
