REDjet denies reports of service cuts; to open 7-8 routes in 2012

REDjet CEO Ian Burns denied (11-Jan-2012) reports that the carrier plans to cut services, stating the carrier will make adjustments to some routes to increase efficiency and "make space to create more routes" (Jamaica Observer/Caribbean 360, 11-Jan-2012). Some flights have being cancelled, but most routes are being adjusted to new flight times. The carrier plans open seven to eight new routes in 2012, including three routes to two new destinations by Easter 2012. In order to achieve this, the carrier stated it has added a third MD-80 aircraft into service and has hired more pilots, who will complete their training and enter service later in Jan-2012.
