Airbus Canada CEO Guillaume Chevasson said customer demand for a larger A220 centred on simplicity and speed to market, adding studies on the proposed A220-500 accelerated with a particular focus in 2026 and Airbus wanted to be ready soon to decide.1 Azorra president Ron Baur expected Airbus to launch the A220-500, while Air Canada EVP and CFO John Di Bert said it would be "very interesting" if range proved sufficient.2
