Qatar Airways to celebrate 'significant milestone' of 20 year anniversary in 2017

Qatar Airways group chief executive Akbar Al Baker, speaking at the CAPA-ACTE Global Summit, stated (27-Oct-2016) the carrier will celebrate a "significant milestone" in 2017, its 20th anniversary. He noted that the carrier has grown over the past 20 years from four aircraft to more than 190 aircraft, with nearly 350 aircraft on the way including the A350. He also noted the carrier has grown its network from regional focus to a "truly global" network with 170 destinations across six continents.
