Qatar Airways to add 15 destinations this year

Qatar Airways CEO, Akbar Al Baker, stated the carrier has no plans to slow its growth and will continue to add aircraft and destinations and will consolidate its presence in existing markets (Gulf News, 07-Apr-2010). Qatar Airways plans to add seven destinations by Jun-2010 and another eight between Jun-2010 and Mar-2011. The airline handled 12 million passengers in FY2008/2009 and expects to handle 14 million passengers in FY2010/2011 (year ending 31-Mar-2011).

Qatar Airways: "We have been witnessing some 35% growth every year and we will continue to grow with the addition of more destinations and more aircraft. We don't fly anything but passengers. We are not flying to destinations just to show our aircraft but there is a demand," Akbar Al Baker, CEO. Source: Gulf News, 07-Apr-2010.
