Qatar Airways sees more liberalisation in 10 years

Qatar Airways Group chief executive Akbar Al Baker, speaking at the CAPA-ACTE Global Summit, stated (27-Oct-2016) "wise brains" will prevail in terms of liberalisation in the aviation market over the next 10 years. He believes that there will be more liberal regimes and more transparency, particularly from Gulf carriers. He says airlines will cooperate more. He also said only airlines that are "aggressively competing" are targeted in Qatar's negotiations with the EU for bilateral air services.
