Qantas previously scheduled further Japan growth, increasing Sydney‑Sapporo from three to up to five times weekly from 16-Dec-2026, adding more than 10,000 seats and lifting the total to nearly 35,000, citing strong early demand.1 Qantas Group also outlined multiple trans-Tasman capacity additions in FY2026, including Jetstar’s planned uplift on Brisbane‑Auckland and Sydney‑Auckland and Qantas’ extra Sydney‑Christchurch flights, targeting nearly 800,000 additional seats year-on-year.2
