Qantas planned to extend the Perth-Rome season by eight weeks in 2026, operating from 03-May-2026 to 23-Oct-2026 with Boeing 787-9s, and to lift frequencies from three to four per week, adding 40 flights and nearly 10,000 seats. The airline described 2026 as its largest year for long haul services out of Perth, including new routes to Auckland and Johannesburg1.
