Premium traffic up 7.7% in Feb-2011: IATA

IATA reports (19-Apr-2011) the following premium traffic growth highlights by region in Feb-2011:

• Total international: +7.7% year-on-year;
  • Within Africa: +16.1%;
  • Within Far East: +9.7%;
  • Within Middle East: +0.4%;
  • Within North America: -12.5%;
  • Within Southwest Pacific: -23.2%;
  • Within Europe: +3.7%. [more]

IATA: "The next few months at least will see air travel adversely hit by a further surge in fuel prices and unrest in MENA, the impact of the Japanese earthquake and a fall, hopefully temporary, in business confidence during March.
