Background

Pratt & Whitney Canada previously tested its RTX Hybrid-Electric Flight Demonstrator propulsion system and H55-supplied 200kWh batteries to full power, marking the first battery-powered operation, and selected AeroTEC to support future Dash 8-100 flight testing.1 It also co-developed a 1500-volt mobile charging unit with Canada’s National Research Council and the Innovative Vehicle Institute to charge the demonstrator’s batteries.2
