PANYNJ reports second consecutive year of record pax in 2024

Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) reported (29-Jan-2025) its airports handled 145.9 million passengers in 2024, according to initial estimates, surpassing the previous record of 143.8 million set in 2023. The airports handled 52.3 million international passengers in 2024, exceeding the record of 50.9 million set in 2019. The airports handled 12.5 million passengers in Dec-2024, an increase of 5% year-on-year and a new record for the month. New York John F Kennedy International Airport (63.3 million passengers) and New York LaGuardia Airport (33.5 million passengers) both achieved their busiest years on record. PANYNJ executive director Rick Cotton stated: "A second consecutive record-breaking year, along with record-breaking international travel, is extraordinary.
