Panel of ministers to discuss Air India's new business plan

Air India Chairman Arvind Jadhav stated a panel of ministers, headed by finance minister Pranab Mukherje, who have been tasked with looking into the turnaround of Air India will meet today (22-Jun-2011) to discuss its new business plan (Dow Jones, 21-Jun-2011). Air India's turnaround plan includes revenue enhancement and cost-cutting measures, profit projections and steps to restructure its INR400 billion (USD8.9 billion) debt. The ministers will also discuss the airline's proposal for an additional equity infusion from the government to improve its finances.
