Pakistan International Airlines revenue up 6.7%, falls into the red in 1Q2010

Pakistan International Airlines revenue up 6.7% - unconsolidated financial highlights for the three months ended 31-Mar-2010:

  • Operating revenue: USD272.1 million, +6.7% year-on-year;
    • Excess baggage: USD3.2 million, +15.8%;
  • Operating costs: USD277.7 million, +21.0%;
    • Fuel: USD101.0 million, +44.8%;
    • Labour: USD28.8 million, +17.3%;
  • Operating profit (loss): (USD5.6 million), compared to a profit of USD23.5 million in the previous corresponding period;
  • Profit (loss) before tax: (USD28.8 million), compared to a loss of USD24.4 million in the previous corresponding period;
  • Net profit (loss): (USD30.1 million), compared to a loss of USD24.4 million in the previous corresponding period;
  • Passenger traffic (RPKs): +8.6%;
