Pakistan International Airlines reports operating profit in 3Q2012

Pakistan International Airlines revenue up 2% - consolidated financial highlights for three months ended 30-Sep-2012:

  • Revenue: PKR31,434 million (USD332.7 million), +2.3% year-on-year;
    • Passenger: PKR24,611 million (USD260.4 million), 0.1%;
    • Room, food and beverages sales: PKR2895 million (USD30.6 million), +5.4%;
    • Cargo: PKR1918 million (USD20.3 million), +4.2%;
  • Cost of sales: PKR26,268 million (USD278.0 million), -9.5%;
    • Fuel: PKR14,882 million (USD157.5 million), -6.0%;
    • Landing and handling: PKR3128 million (USD33.1 million), +7.6%;
    • Repair, maintenance and overhaul: PKR1385 million (USD14.7 million), -5.9%;
    • Labour: PKR1040 million (USD11.0 million), -48.1%;
  • Operating profit: PKR600.9 million (USD6.4 million), compared to a loss of PKR5078 million (USD53.7 million) in p-c-p;
