Transport Canada awarded CAD1.2 million to Niagara District Airport under the Airports Capital Assistance Programme to acquire safety equipment including a runway sweeper, snow plow and loader, following a May-2021 ACAP-funded snow blower purchase.1 Ontario Government also introduced the Building Billy Bishop Airport Act 2026, aimed at enabling provincial takeover of Toronto’s role and supporting long-term modernisation and expansion to ease pressure at Toronto Pearson.2
