oneworld CEO Nathaniel Pieper, in IATA's Airlines publication, stated (23-Jun-2024) the COVID-19 pandemic "reset the value of a global alliance". Mr Pieper said: "Carriers necessarily retreated to their core during the COVID-19 outbreak and had to rely on partners to fly elsewhere".
