Novosibirsk Oblast outlines EUR206m in Novosibirsk Tolmachevo Airport development plans

Novosibirsk Oblast Governor Andrei Travnikov confirmed (10-Jul-2018) Novaport plans to construct a new Novosibirsk Tolmachevo Airport terminal. The project requires an investment of RUB15 billion (EUR206.7 million). The project is expected to allow the airport to increase capacity to up to 20 million passengers p/a. The airport handled five million passengers in 2017. Development prospects also include the establishment of a catering facility by Lufthansa and the construction of a mail processing centre by Russian Post. The airport also requires airfield development including runway reconstruction and the construction of aprons and taxiways to support the expected capacity increase. Novosibirsk Oblast requested funding for work from the federal government. Mr Travnik expressed confidence that with joint efforts, financing for airfield repair and reconstruction will be organised in the nearest future. [more - original PR - Russian]
