No orders expected at Singapore Airshow for major manufacturers

Airbus and Boeing both commented they expect to receive no new orders at the Singapore Airshow, as the market remains challenging and is still emerging from the recession (Reuters/Bloomberg, 02-Jan-2010). Both manufacturers expect deliveries to outweigh orders in 2010, with Boeing scheduled to deliver 460-465 aircraft and Airbus aiming at a similar level to the 498 it delivered in 2009.

Boeing: "We see 2010 as the year of economic recovery and 2011 a year where airlines recover to profitability and…an increase in demand for airplanes in 2012," Randy Tinseth, VP Marketing. Source: Reuters, 02-Feb-2010.
