The new international terminal at Newcastle Williamtown Airport was part of a broader AUD250 million expansion, supported by AUD55 million in Australian Government funding and designed to enable widebody Code E aircraft and expanded freight capacity. The facility, scheduled to open in August 2025, is expected to create 4400 jobs and generate AUD12.7 billion in economic activity for the region, enabling ongoing international services beyond Australasia for the first time1 2 3.
