The New South Wales Ministry of Transport confirmed the AUD60 flat rate taxi fare trial between Sydney Airport and the CBD would run for 12 months from 03-Nov-2025, following a recommendation by the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal, and noted similar flat fare schemes in cities such as New York JFK International Airport1. The trial also included an AUD80 cap for maxi taxis and formed part of a broader two-year taxi fare cap trial2.
