The government previously implemented changes to slot allocation at congested airports, including prioritising passenger traffic and capping operations at Mexico City Juarez International Airport due to saturation issues, while also adopting a historical priority method and stricter punctuality requirements than IATA standards for slot retention1 2. US airlines were recently informed that previously removed slots at Felipe Ángeles International Airport would be returned to them3.
