Malaysia Airlines Group CEO 'extremely disappointed' with 3Q2013 results

Malaysia Airlines group CEO Ahmad Jauhari stated (18-Nov-2013) the carrier is "extremely disappointed" in its 3Q2013 financial results which "emphasise the need to maintain our focus on cost control and drive improved efficiency and performance across all divisions". While calling the airlines business a "tough" environment, the Group CEO stated MAS' seat load factor is at a high of 85% which is "one of the highest in any quarter in the history of the carrier and in the industry" allowing the carrier to generate an incremental MYR362 million (USD113.3 million) in passenger revenue in 3Q2013 when compared to 3Q2012.
