Malaysia Airlines CEO to leave in Sep-2016

Malaysia Airlines announced (19-Apr-2016) CEO and MD Christoph Mueller will leave the company in Sep-2016. Mr Mueller will serve a six-month notice period to Sep-2016 and intends to remain with the airline as a non-executive director. Mr Mueller requested to depart before the end of his three-year contract due to changing personal circumstances. The airline commenced a search for a new CEO and also appointed COO Peter Bellew as an executive director, effective immediately. A final decision on a new CEO will be made by the end of Mr Mueller's term. Mr Mueller said, "I am confident that the company is now on the right track to succeed in its next phase of growth under a new CEO."
